You are both correct. Let me explain my actions, and what has led to my ban. Also for clarification purposes, let me clarify that I have been playing under the character name of Mafia:
This started roughly a week ago. One of the administrators, I feel, was trying to play too much of a “god” when having such a role. That administrator would often force balance teams, and force people into spectator roles. While this is under their umbrella of responsibilities, I believed it to be taken too extremely. My tipping point occurred when that administrator, in my opinion, did nothing short of harass one of the players for his ping situation. The administrator placed him in spectate mode several times for his ping issues, and this eventually led to him being kicked out of the game. This was despite the majority of the players coming to his defense saying the ping was not an issue. Every time I looked at it, I viewed his ping around 150 to 200. Not excessive in my opinion. Other players commented that that the player was not Lagging and jumping positions from their view. Despite this, he was run out of the game.
This is a game after all. It is a game. Some people are unable to get a good internet connection. Some people either work, or go to school all day, and they come home trying to play a game to relax, and enjoy themselves. I felt the player was unfairly treated. Unfortunately, us as common players do not have much power over an administrator. This is what caused my retaliatory actions.
After the character was ran out of the game, I wanted to show my displeasure for the action, and in my way, stick up for this player’s unheard voice. So on the next map, I chased the administrator half way across the map with my chainsaw, and committed my first and only teamkill of the game. This is where it would have ended, except after that one teamkill, I was kicked from the game myself. There is a reason that the game allows teamkills, and allows a general teamkill number per game. Agree with it or not, there is a reason it is allowed to a degree. I saw it as the common players only good way to voice our displeasure. To me it was a retaliatory move, such as a bean ball in baseball. To be kicked after that single teamkill, made it not feel like a game, but to instead be oppressed by a tyrant. This is what led to my next actions.
Following the ending of that banning sentence, when I saw that administrator online, still playing “god”, I would make an effort to play near them. This resulted in many teamkills by me, some on purpose, some on accident. It was always the same story, after each teamkill, whether on purpose or on accident, I would be placed into spectator mode, until I was finally kicked.
What pushed me over the edge towards the end, was when I realized the “god” capabilities were extended to mute me from the chat, disallowing what really is the enjoyment of the game for me and for many, having conversations with my online friends. The way I discovered this: one of these acquaintances commented on my silence, because I always engage in conversations that help us all enjoy the game more. Taking away the fun part of the game for me, made it not worth playing at all. That was the only game where I blatantly teamkilled the administrator until I was kicked, because there was no way to communicate that I wanted to continue my conversations with my friends. Once again, I felt us common gamers had our voices silenced, and unheard. This time quite literally. It pushed me to a greater rage.
The next day, when my ban was lifted, I wanted to ruffle feathers. I started running my mouth about cheating in the game. Despite spectators watching me play, and commenting on how all of my shots seemed legit, it helped lead to this permanent ban for false cheating allegations.
Personally, I am flattered. My game must be good enough that I must cheat to be this good. There is no credible evidence that I have ever, or even have the means to cheat at this game. Instead, I feel the haste move to get me kicked, was because the ‘gods’ of this game do not want anything other than loyal subjects that bow to their every demand. This is a game, and should only be fun, and should be fun and able to be enjoyed by all. Those with good internet connections, and those without good internet connections. I will not change how I feel. I feel this administrator let the power go to their head, and feels the need to alter the game play in order to show their place at the top.
