    • Xuvo: Modernized Client Mod with lots of Features!

      DESCRIPTION
      This is a mod for Cube 2: Sauerbraten (http://sauerbraten.org/), a free first person shooter that has a multiplayer co-operative editing mode and more than 15 different gamemodes to choose from. It was made a long time ago and has old hud. This mod aims to update the game and make all of the features it has hidden under its hood accessible through a graphical user interface. With Xuvo, you can easily toggle footstep sounds, search the master server list for your friends and servers, edit heightmapping and texture blending all from a graphical user interface. Select a new set of guns from the hudgun selector, right next to where you select a crosshair and your name. Send a message periodically during your AFK period, easily make binds and commands on your own without even having to leave the game. Blend textures, heightmap in multiplayer, add fog, clouds, skyboxes, etc. Simply add the files in place of your pre-existing gamedata folder and be done with the install.

      TROUBLESHOOTING
      Xuvo campaign/AI buttons gone: goto options>Xuvo and enable "show campaign/ai buttons."
      Xuvo GUI Not opening: you must be connected for the GUI to open.
      Xuvo Editing GUI not working: you must be in coop edit mode.
      Xuvo footstep sounds not working: you must turn them on in options>Xuvo.
      Crapmod "master server not responding": you have an outdated version of Xuvo, re-download Xuvo with the same link you downloaded it from before as it has been updated and the new crapmod masterserver has been added.

      A new server mod. This one is rewarding to players with good accuracy.

      Server Name
      va|Accuracy Wars

      How it works
      If anyone gets higher than 50% accuracy, they get +40 health each time someone dies. When their accuracy drops below 50% again, the health boost goes away.

      Fun mode ideas
      efficctf - a flagcarrier that is healthboosted because of high accuracy can sustain for a long time.

      effichold - if you're accurate, you can be an amazing flagholder, you will keep regenerating health.

      effic - snipers now rule efficctf. Any high accuracy player will be rewarded heavily.

      regen capture - the rifle base will be the most demanded base in the whole game, like a capture point.

      collect - collecting the skulls will be easy with a healthboost.

      tactics - since weapons are supplied randomly, the healthboosted people will most likely be random too.

      ffa - this would be the most difficult to get high accuracy on. Rifle pickups rule.

      insta - this mod doesn't work well in insta because the health isn't restored. Avoid this mode.

      Pass the flag
      you can pass the flag in accuracy wars. This allows the game to progress more rapidly.

      Ideas?
      If you have ideas for another mod that you'd like to see, please post a reply and I will work on it, seriously. I have been considering linking hulk mode with accuracy wars but I don't know what people want.

      I like the idea for hold mode hulk, right now I left it open master so you can pick the mode. Also I changed the health of the hulk significantly after some testing.

      Yeah the health and armor still need adjustments to make it easier for the hulk to survive/vice versa. A lot of times the hulk will get around 15 kills and just die. The health pool for non-tearmodes needs to be tweaked more. In fact his overall health should be tweaked more. If he gets more health, it will be more likely for him to survive for 10 minutes. If he gets less health, he won't be as strong because he'll have less damage. It is definitely a changeable number, i'm just waiting to test it more so I can see what is fair for both sides, and also what people suggest.

      And you're right, it's a lot of damage.

    • va|Hulk

      I have created a new server called va|Hulk in which a person is randomly selected at the beginning of each match to be the hulk.

      What's so great about the hulk you ask? Well he gets 3000 health (in team modes), 1500 armor, and 100000 ammo. All he has to do is complete the objective (score flagruns/kill others/capture bases/hold the flag) and live for 10 minutes. If the others kill him before 10 minutes is up, he is defeated and another hulk is chosen.

      Please tell me what you think and also come check out the mod in person on the va|Hulk server.

      Also thank you everyone for all the suggestions about the hulk health, ammo, etc.

      I've been working on QServ for about 7 years but I don't post about it much anywhere. Since Cube 2 hasn't had much activity lately, I figured i'd release a bunch of stuff.       30+ commands, GeoIP city/region & country, IRC Bot with commands, multi-server chat linkage, smartbot (weather/translator/dictionary/calculator), killing spree messages, server stored maps, longshot/close up kills, beststats, pass-the-flag, command builder, reloadable server configuration/authkeys live without restart, banlist, selective unbanning, banning by ip, chat/server log with time, automatically sent maps with lightmaps, lag detection, instagib on automatically sent maps from the server with lights, no teamkill damage toggle, no damage toggle, stored flagrun times, banner messages, no 1 person private mode toggle, greet clients with name toggle, default gamemode/map option, etc.

      Like Star said, there are other mods that are meant for clan leaders to use that are easier to install and compile. Spaghettimod is definitely build for programmers because of its extensible lua implementation. If you're looking to get a simple pass-the-flag server going, QServ can help https://github.com/deathstar/QServCollect.

      And also from your debug messages it says in the log "64 bytes from tesseract.gg (37.59.116.203): icmp_seq=1 ttl=54 time=16.8 ms." I'm not 100% sure if Tesseract is even in a release stage, let alone spaghettimod for Tesseract. The error "Sun Feb 26 20:02:30 2017 | Error running script/bootstrap.lua: ./script/utils/lambda.lua:8: bad argument #1 to 'load' (function expected, got string) {" seems to have to do with some scripts, specifically the first argument.

      @DipShitStar yeah you have to type /while 1 into sauerbraten chat if the /quit spectator command doesn't work. If that doesn't work, just type: getauth = 1; while $getauth

      lol. It always depends how far the server and master server are from the client. Sauerbraten ping is not a real measurement of your internet quality, but that ping is outrageous ::o:

      Since Gustavo's server is based off of the mod made by pisto, and that i've seen posts and such that suggest they are friends, I figured they possibly exchanged authkeys. Also Gustavo said something about how the key for someone else from Pisto.horse should've worked on his server but then he clarified that they didn't: ""Your matching public key is loaded in Pastaland the same way it is loaded in pisto.horse, I don't see why it shouldn't work.""
